Campsite · Central Ranges fire district, NSW
This is a privately operated campground — the operator sets the fire rules. Many allow campfires in fire rings outside fire ban periods. Contact them before you travel.
A declared fire ban always overrides the operator's rules.
Their website says (checked 12 July 2026, not yet operator-confirmed)
“Yes, you are. Each campsite has it's own firepit, or you are welcome to bring your own portable campfire pit if you have one. Just remember that campfires are not permitted during a Total Fire Ban. If you are unsure if there is Total Fire Ban for Lake Lyell please head to the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) website and click on the Central Ranges for the Lithgow region. We will also notify campers in person and via our pre-arrival phone call if there is a Total Fire Ban in place. As our campgrounds are in a nature reserve, we ask that you please not collect firewood and kindling (twigs and branches) from our park. Failure to do so will result in park bans.”
