Campsite · Central Ranges fire district, NSW
This is a privately operated campground — the operator sets the fire rules. Many allow campfires in fire rings outside fire ban periods. Contact them before you travel.
A declared fire ban always overrides the operator's rules.
Their website says (checked 12 July 2026, not yet operator-confirmed)
“Unless there is a fire ban, Turon Gates permits fires year-round. Just remember, no bon-fires. We do not offer fire pits, we encourage our guests to use one of the many rock formed firepits around the campground or bring your own portable firepit. Your fire must be completely extinguished before you go to sleep or leave the area. Never leave a fire unattended . During total fire bans and windy weather conditions, fires are absolutely forbidden and duringthese times you must cook on gas stove or burner.”
