This is a privately operated campground — the operator sets the fire rules. Many allow campfires in fire rings outside fire ban periods. Contact them before you travel.
A declared fire ban always overrides the operator's rules.
Their website says (checked 12 July 2026, not yet operator-confirmed)
“Fires: Gorge View Bush Retreat is unique in that it allows guests to enjoy camp fires. Gorge View Bush Retreat requests that firewood be gathered OFF SITE. Guests found breaching the firewood collection rule may be found to be in breach of the conditions of their stay at Gorge View Bush Retreat. Fires are to be in fire pits only.”
