Campsite · South East Coast fire district, QLD
This is a privately operated campground — the operator sets the fire rules. Many allow campfires in fire rings outside fire ban periods. Contact them before you travel.
A declared fire ban always overrides the operator's rules.
Their website says (checked 12 July 2026, not yet operator-confirmed)
“Firepits must be elevated at least 200mm off the ground, with fires contained in a brazier or fire ring. Ground fires are not permitted. You are required to have a water source located on hand including a bucket of water or a fire extinguisher nearby for emergencies. A responsible person aged 18 years or over should oversee the campfire. It must never be left unattended until it has been extinguished. Always supervise young children around a fire. Fires must be kept to a manageable size (no larger than 1 metre in diameter), bonfires or excessive flames are not allowed. Ensure your campfire is positioned in a cleared area with no overhanging branches—at least 2 m away from tents, marquee's and that other camping equipment is stored well away, especially flammable items. Always put the fire out with water before going to bed or when you leave your campsite—use water, not sand, which keep their heat and can cause severe burns.”
