This is a privately operated campground — the operator sets the fire rules. Many allow campfires in fire rings outside fire ban periods. Contact them before you travel.
A declared fire ban always overrides the operator's rules.
Their website says (checked 12 July 2026, not yet operator-confirmed)
“Camp fires are permitted at Hillocks Drive from the 30th April until the 1st November. Please bring: A metal surround to contain the fire A metal bucket A metal shovel your own fire wood (or buy fire wood from our shop) Collection of firewood from Hillocks bush is strictly prohibited. Campfires may not be lit on the ground in campsites. Please ensure: Campfires are extinguished with water ( not sand ) Ash and coals are picked up and discarded in the assigned area near the T junction before breaking camp, leaving the campsite free of ash and coals Unwanted wood is left in the assigned area for fellow camper's to use Camp fires are allowed on the beach between high and low water mark for the month of April and 1st-15th November. Seasonal variations may occur, please check at the shop or CFS website for the latest fire rating. Strictly no fires from 15th November to 1st April.”
