This is a privately operated campground — the operator sets the fire rules. Many allow campfires in fire rings outside fire ban periods. Contact them before you travel.
A declared fire ban always overrides the operator's rules.
Their website says (checked 12 July 2026, not yet operator-confirmed)
“Guests are not permitted to bring or create their own fire pits or light fires for any purpose including warmth or cooking anywhere on the Suma Park property besides the designated BBQ area fire pit. Guests are responsible for their use of the BBQ Fire Pit and are liable for any breaches of CFA and local council laws and any damage caused to Suma Park property as a result of their (Guest) use of the fire pit. CFA Fire Danger Period for the local municipality (COGG) is in place from November 24, 2025, to May 1, 2026. During this period Guests must abide by CFA regulations (see here: https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/warnings-restrictions/fire-bans-ratings-and-restrictions/can-i-or-cant-i) Failure to follow CFA FDP requirements is a breach of CFA Act Section 37. Violators face up to $24,360 or 12-months imprisonment or both. Fires of any kind are not permitted on Total Fire Ban days.”
